Make a beatmap
Maps are made in the game, in the mod’s track editor. Publishing them here takes a few minutes more.
Build the map
- Put your song in music_battle_tracks (one folder per track) or pick a Library track on this site and press “Map this track”.
- Open the track editor from the Blocky Music track list, set the offset and the tempo first, then place notes. Getting the timing right before the notes saves re-doing them later.
- Add a chart per difficulty. One map can carry up to 16 charts, so keep an easy one for new players.
- Play your own map end to end before you publish it. Unplayable jumps and notes off the beat are the two things reviewers send back most often.
Where your map lives
Each track is a folder in music_battle_tracks: the audio, a cover image and one .json chart file per difficulty. You can copy that folder to another computer or keep it in version control. Nothing is hidden anywhere else.
Publish it
You need a QwU World account, and the same account signed in here and in the game. Both routes end in the same place.
From the game
In the track list, choose “Publish to Workshop” on your track. The wizard opens with the audio, cover and charts already filled in; add the details and send it.
From this site
Open Upload here and follow the wizard: audio (or a fingerprint of your own copy), cover, charts, then title, artist, source, tags, genre, language and the content marks.
If you may not share the audio, publish the map without it: the upload step reads only the length, size and a checksum of your file, and players use their own copy.
After you publish
New maps from young accounts and from mappers without a public map yet wait for a staff check; everything else appears straight away. Mark a map work in progress while you are still changing it, and publish a new revision whenever you improve it; players who installed it are offered the update.
Read the upload rules before your first map: rights, audio, covers, metadata and the content marks are all decided there. Upload rules
