Community Rules#

These rules apply to everything people write and do on the Workshop: comments and replies on the website and in the game's Workshop screens, votes on comments, ratings, favourites, profile content and reports. Comments stored on Minecraft servers follow that server's own rules (see Server Comments). These rules are part of the Workshop Terms.

1. All ages#

Anyone can open a map page: browsing, previews and downloads need no account at all, and a qwu.world account starts at 13. Publishing and commenting are 16+, but what you publish is seen by players younger than that, so keep everything suitable for an audience of 13 and up.

  • No sexual content, sexual role-play, erotic or fetish images, and no links to them.
  • Never any sexual content involving minors. We report it to the authorities.
  • No gore or graphic violence, no images of self-harm, and nothing that encourages drug use or self-harm.
  • No hate symbols and no content meant to shock.
  • Fine: mild cartoon or game violence, mild romance, well-known classical art.

This applies to text, links, usernames and profile content alike.

2. Respect people#

  • No insults, harassment, bullying or ganging up on someone.
  • No hate or discrimination against people because of who they are.
  • No threats, not even as a joke.
  • Do not share anyone's personal information: addresses, phone numbers, real names they have not made public, private messages or photos.
  • No unwanted sexual or romantic advances.
  • If someone seems to be at risk, report it. If a person is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services.

3. Feedback on maps#

  • Criticise the chart, not the person. Say what does not work and, if you can, how to improve it.
  • Mappers: take feedback calmly. You do not have to agree, but do not report fair criticism just because you dislike it.

4. No spam or advertising#

  • No repeated, copy-pasted or meaningless comments, and no flooding.
  • No ads, referral links, or invitations to servers or chats that have nothing to do with the map.
  • Mentioning your own related map or project now and then is fine when it is on topic.

5. No piracy#

  • No links to pirated music, stream rippers, "download mp3" sites or cracked software.
  • Do not ask for or offer the song file of a map without audio. Players use their own copy, obtained legally.

6. Stay on topic#

  • Keep comments about the map, the song or the chart.
  • Warn before spoilers.
  • Any language is welcome. Moderators mostly read English and Russian and may use translation tools.

7. Keep moderation private#

  • Do not discuss other people's sanctions, and do not accuse anyone in comments of stealing maps, cheating or piracy. Report it instead.
  • Your own account standing is private: only you and staff can see it.

8. Fair ratings and favourites#

  • Rate maps from 1 to 10 on their merits. You cannot rate your own map, and you can change your rating.
  • No rating or favouriting in groups to push a map up or down, no trading ratings, and no extra accounts.
  • Manipulated ratings are removed, and those involved can be sanctioned.

9. Be yourself#

Do not pretend to be QwU World, staff, a curator, an artist or another player, including with look-alike names or avatars.

10. Reports#

  • Use the Report button on maps, comments and profiles. Choose the closest reason and add details.
  • Reports are private. The reported person is never told who reported them.
  • You are told when your report has been resolved, without the details.
  • A comment reported by 3 established accounts within 24 hours is hidden until staff review it. A report from a curator or moderator hides it straight away.
  • Rights holders and legal complaints: use the notice form.
  • Do not file false reports or mass-report someone to get them punished. The first time you get a warning; after that your reports are ignored for 30 days.

11. Requirements and limits#

Current values; they may change:

  • You need an account to comment, vote on comments, rate, favourite or report, and you accept these rules the first time.
  • Accounts younger than 24 hours cannot post links.
  • Comments: up to 5,000 characters; at most 1 comment every 20 seconds, 30 per hour and 200 per day.
  • Reports: up to 20 per day, and one per item every 24 hours.
  • A word filter blocks or replaces some words and flags others for staff.
  • Silenced or restricted accounts cannot post (Moderation).
  • Comments are locked on maps whose downloads are turned off.

12. Editing, deleting and pinning#

  • You can edit or delete your own comments at any time. Edited comments show that they were edited, and staff can see earlier versions.
  • A map's owner can pin one of their own comments on their map. Staff can pin, lock and remove comments.

13. Consequences#

Breaking these rules can lead to a comment being hidden or deleted, and to sanctions from a warning up to losing account features on the Workshop. You always get a statement of reasons and can appeal. See Moderation, Sanctions and Appeals.

14. Changes#

  • Version 2 (18 September 2026). Section 1 now says that players here can be as young as 16, because the Workshop is a 16+ service. What you may post has not changed: keep everything suitable for them.
