Server Comments
Server Comments#
Where they are stored#
Server comments are stored only on the Minecraft server you are playing on. QwU World does not receive, store, back up or moderate them. They are separate from comments on the Workshop website.
Who is responsible#
The people who run the server (its operators) are responsible for server comments: their rules, moderation, how long comments are kept, and any personal data in them. QwU World only makes the mod.
In data-protection terms, the operator is the controller of server comments. QwU World is not a controller and not a processor for them: the comments never reach our servers, and we cannot read, export or delete them. If you run a server, this means you: publish what you store and how to reach you, answer requests for a copy or for deletion (`/musicbattle comments export` and `delete` are how), and keep comments no longer than you need. The mod ships with a 180-day default for exactly this reason.
Names and heads#
- A comment shows the Minecraft name the server reports, with a head from that player's skin, or the default Steve head when no licensed account has that name. Your game loads skins from Mojang's services.
- On servers in offline mode, names are not verified, so anyone can use any name. The game shows "Names on this server are not verified".
- No QwU World account is shown or linked.
Reporting#
The Report button sends the report to that server's operators only. QwU World cannot see or remove server comments. For illegal content or threats, contact the server's operators, their hosting provider or the police.
What is stored#
Your Minecraft name and UUID, your skin data as provided by the server, the text and the time. To see or delete your comments, ask the server's operators.
For server operators#
- Server comments are on by default. Turn them off with `/musicbattle comments disable`.
- Publish your own rules and a way to contact you. The Workshop Community Rules are a good start.
- Moderate with `/musicbattle comments delete`, `purge`, `mute` and `unmute`. Use `export` to answer a player's request for their data.
- Keep comments no longer than you need. We recommend 180 days or less (`serverComments.retentionDays`).
- Built-in limits: 500 characters per comment; 1 comment every 10 seconds and 20 per hour per player.
- You are also responsible for the maps your server shares. Stop sharing maps the Workshop marks as withdrawn.
Changes#
- Version 2 (18 September 2026). Wording only: the Russian text was tidied up so it reads more plainly. Nothing changed for server operators.
- Version 1 (17 September 2026). First version.
